Tooth local cosmetic dentistry

  • Teeth Cleaning

Is the removal of dental plaque from teeth, to prevent cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontitis. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing and debridement if too much tartar has accumulated. This involves the use of various instruments or devices to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth. Most dental hygienists recommend having the teeth professionally cleaned at least once every 12 to 24 months.

  • White Filing/Inlays

White filling or composite resin is a tooth-coloured plastic mixture filled with glass (silicon dioxide).Composites are not only used to restore decayed areas, but are also used for cosmetic improvements of the smile by changing the colour of the teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth.

The Inlays is a RESTORATION of metal, fired porcelain, or plastic made outside a tooth to fit into a tapered CAVITY PREPARATION and fastened or LUTED into it with a cementation medium.

Aesthetics are the main advantage of white fillings, since dentists can blend shades to create a colour nearly identical to that of the actual tooth. Composites bond to the tooth to support the remaining tooth structure, which helps to prevent breakage and insulate the tooth from excessive temperature changes.

  • Porcelain Veneers

It's a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer, composite and porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician in a dental laboratory, and later bonded to the tooth, typically using a resin cement. In contrast, a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated.

  • Teeth Bonding

This means the binding together of various substances like, for instance, gold and porcelain or certain filling materials and the surface of the tooth. In the case where the bonding is between tooth enamel and a filling material, an UNFILLED RESIN is used to assist the mechanical adhesion of the resin material. Bonding may also be carried out with an adhesive substance e.g. glue or cement.

  • Cosmetic Contouring

It's a quick and relatively straightforward process involving minor reshaping of chipped, fractured or overcrowded teeth. It is a subtle procedure, involving minimal discomfort, which allows the correction of minor flaws of the teeth to create a clean looking, uniform and straighter smile by simply ‘smoothing’ the surface of your teeth.

  • Teeth Whitening

Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. A child's deciduous teeth are generally whiter than the adult teeth that follow. As a person ages the adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous[citation needed]. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. Certain antibiotic medications (like tetracycline) can also cause teeth stains or a reduction in the brilliance of the enamel.

  • Gum Reshaping

A low or uneven gum line can be reshaped and corrected using a painless and simple technique known as laser gum reshaping. The treatment removes excess gum, sealing the gum as treatment progresses so no stitches are required. Dramatic results revealing more teeth than gum for an instant smile lift can be achieved relatively painlessly in a short period of time.

Used in conjunction with porcelain veneers, gum reshaping is an ideal treatment choice to correct small, crooked or misshapen teeth and create a beautiful and balanced smile.

  • Full Mouth Reconstruction

Full mouth reconstruction is the use of many methods of dentistry to create the correct relationship between gums, bone, muscles, and teeth. The mouth is a complex machine; without a proper bite, chewing can become impaired, teeth can become worn, the jaw and neck can become sore, and even migraines can occur.

Dental bonding, porcelain veneers and crowns, dental implants, and teeth whitening are all potential procedures used in a full mouth reconstruction - rehabilitation.

  • Tooth Replacement

There are three basic ways to replace a missing tooth or teeth, including a fixed dental bridge, dentures, and dental implants. Dental implants are placed when both the tooth and the root of the tooth are degraded or missing. A dental implant is simply a replacement of the anchoring root and the reconstruction of the missing tooth.

  • Porcelain Crowns

In PROSTHODONTIC or RESTORATIVE terms, a crown or cap is an artificial replacement of part or whole of the ANATOMICAL CROWN of a tooth. It restores ANATOMY, FUNCTION and usually AESTHETICS of the tooth, and is cemented or bonded to the remaining tooth substance.

Crowns are necessary when a tooth is generally broken down and fillings won't solve the problem. If a tooth is cracked, a crown holds the tooth together to seal the cracks so the damage doesn't get worse. Crowns are also used to support a large filling when there isn't enough of the tooth remaining, attach a bridge, protect weak teeth from fracturing, restore fractured teeth, or cover badly shaped or discoloured teeth. Some crowns are made from full gold, where as others are made from an alloy of metals fused to a porcelain outer shell.

  • Dental Bridges

In dental terminology, a bridge is a FIXED PROSTHESIS to replace one or more missing teeth, to restore the function, form or aesthetics of the mouth. Bridges are supported and held in position by attachments to adjacent or remaining teeth. Common materials used in their construction include gold and precious metals and their alloys, and porcelain and ceramics.

  • Cosmetic Dentures

Are specially designed dentures to improve aesthetics of an individual. Comfort and cosmetics are of extreme importance. If there are teeth remaining then chromium cosmetic dentures are more stable. They cover less gum area and are stronger. If all teeth are missing then full cosmetic dentures are better in plastic and are lighter.
