  • Filling

A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. When a dentist gives you a filling, he or she first removes the decayed tooth material, cleans the affected area, and then fills the cleaned out cavity with a filling material. Materials used for fillings include dental amalgam, glass ionomers, resin ionomers and some resin composite fillings. The dentist prepares the tooth, places the filling and adjusts it during one appointment.

  • Extraction

Consists in the removal of a tooth from the jaw, usually using instruments called FORCEPS or ELEVATORS. An extraction can also be carried out SURGICALLY, when the dentist needs to make extra incisions or remove some bony tissue to get the tooth to come out. Surgical extractions are carried out when a normal or straight- forward extraction is not possible.

  • Root Canal treatment

Root canal treatment (also called endodontics) is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury. In some cases, the tooth could darken in colour which may mean that the nerve of the tooth has died (or is dying). This would need root canal treatment. The aim of the treatment is to remove all infection from the root canal. The root is then cleaned and filled to prevent any further infection. Root canal treatment is a skilled and time-consuming procedure. Most courses of treatment will involve two or more visits to your dentist.

  • False Teeth

False teeth are devices that are utilized to perform the function of natural teeth when they are no longer present. Also known as dentures, false teeth sometimes become necessary due to the deterioration of natural teeth or due to some type of accident that severely damages the teeth. False teeth may be permanently inserted into the gums or be constructed into plates that can be placed over the gums and removed when appropriate.

Sections of false teeth, known as partials, are sometimes utilized to fill in a gap where several teeth are missing. The partials slide into place and sometimes are fashioned to connect with the existing teeth. False teeth also come in the form of dental implants. The implants are permanent false teeth that are inserted to take the place of one or two teeth that have been removed for some reason. The dental plants fit neatly into the tooth socket of the gum and blend in with the natural teeth.

  • Implants

Can be used in people who are missing one or more teeth. An implant is surgically placed in an opening that is made by your dentist in the jawbone. After the implant integrates (attaches) to your bone, it acts as a new "root" for the crown that will be replacing your missing tooth. A crown (cap), which is made to look like a natural tooth, is attached to the implant and fills the space left in the mouth by the missing tooth

  • Orthodontics

Is the specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. Orthodontic treatment can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal with the control and modification of facial growth.

  • Sports Mouth Guards

A mouthguard (also known as a mouth protector, mouth piece or gumshield) is a protective device for the mouth that covers the teeth and gums to prevent and reduce injury to the teeth, arches, lips and gums. Mouthguards are most often used to prevent injury in contact sports, as a treatment for bruxism or TMD, or as part of certain dental procedures, such as tooth bleaching.

  • Night Mouth Guards

A night mouth guard is a pad or protective device that surrounds the teeth. It usually covers either the top row of teeth or the bottom row of teeth. Only rarely do people need one for both the top and bottom teeth. Its purpose is to keep the top teeth from grinding against the bottom teeth. It is an instant fix to teeth grinding or teeth clenching.

  • Dentures

Are specially designed dentures to improve aesthetics of an individual. Comfort and cosmetics are of extreme importance. If there are teeth remaining then chromium cosmetic dentures are more stable. They cover less gum area and are stronger. If all teeth are missing then full cosmetic dentures are better in plastic and are lighter.

  • Deep Scaling

The objective of scaling and root planing, otherwise known as conventional periodontal therapy, non-surgical periodontal therapy, or dental prophylaxis is to remove or eliminate the etiologic agents which cause inflammation: dental plaque, its products and calculus, thus helping to establish a periodontium that is free of disease.
